Zonal Anthropological Museum in Andaman Islands

The Zonal Anthropological Museum in Port Blair started in the year 1975-76, is an ethnographic museum. It showcases the four Negrito Tribes of the Andaman viz. the Jarawas, Sentinelese, Great Andamanese and the Onges and two Mongoloid Tribes of the Nicobar viz. the Nicobarese and the Shompens. This museum is closed on Mondays and Govt. Holidays.The Zonal Anthropological Museum in Port Blair was established in 1975. It is one of the best museums in town to visit. Cellular Jail

The Cellular Jail, also known as Kālā Pānī (Hindi for black waters), was a colonial prison in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. The prison was used by the British especially to exile political prisoners to the remote archipelago. Many notable independence activists such as Batukeshwar Dutt, Yogendra Shukla among others and the famous Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, were imprisoned here during the struggle for Indias independence. Today, the complex serves as a national memorial monument.

Samudrika Marine Museum

Located in Port Blair, Samudrika Naval Marine Museum is a well-known tourist attraction in the Andaman Islands. This popular sightseeing place of Andaman is also known as Fisheries Museum. This place has a wide range of installations with informative coverage of the islands ecosystem, plants, animals, tribal communities and marine life. This museum also includes a small aquarium that houses various collections of fishes and corals and shells. On the outside you will also come across a skeleton of a blue whale that was washed ashore on the Nicobar.
