For Foreign Nationals
- Foreign nationals require a valid permit to enter and stay in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
- Initial stay is allowed for 30 days, which can be extended by an additional 15 days with permission from the concerned authorities.
Permits can be obtained from:
- Indian Missions overseas
- Foreigner’s Registration Offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata
- On arrival at Port Blair airport or seaport
- Travelers must carry a valid passport, visa, and return/onward ticket during the journey.
For Indian Nationals
- Indian citizens do not require a general permit to visit the Andaman Islands.
- Special permits are required to visit the Nicobar Islands and certain tribal areas due to security and ecological reasons. These permits are issued only in exceptional cases.
