Laxmanpur Beach is one of the beautiful and famous beach at Neil Island. White sandy beach that is full of shells, dead corals and has a beach that is very wide and long and provides an awesome view for an evening walk. The beach also gives an impressive sunset view!
The secluded beach of Laxmanpur in Laxmanpur village, lies 2 km north of the Neil Island jetty. The beach is carpeted by white shell sand and has shallow water, making it ideal for snorkeling and studying the coral reef. Visitors can find several corals and sea shells that can be collected as souvenirs scattered across the beach. Sunbathing and swimming are other major activities here. One can also view a spectacular sunset from this beach. A natural rock formation at Laxmanpur Beach is locally known as the Howrah Bridge. The best time to visit the place is during low tide as the retreating sea leaves behind many secrets from its treasure trove.
This is the beach where one can often see fishermen setting sail in their boats to earn their daily living. Laxmanpur Beach is much larger and longer than Bharatpur Beach, located nearby. One should ideally plan a trip between the months of December and May, as the archipelago enjoys pleasant weather during this time.

How to reach
Government and private ferries offer the most economic and easiest way to go from Port Blair to Laxmanpur beach. The beach is located on Neil Island. It takes about 2 hours to get from Port Blair to the island, and two boats leave every day from Phoenix Bay Jetty to make a round trip to this place.

This beach is another ideal site for snorkeling. It has a rich coral reef formation and amazing underwater marine life. One can reach Elephant beach by small cruise boat from Havelock Jetty in about 40 minutes. By road one can go up to the Forest Camp which is 8 Kms from the Jetty towards Radhanagar side and from there by walk to the Elephant beach which will take another 40 minutes. Private ferry operators organize tours to Elephant beach from Havelock.
Kalapathar Beach
The Kalapathar beach is situated on one corner of Havelock Island. The beach gets its name from the surrounding village called Kalapathar Village and the black rocks (Kalapathar Rocks) that adorn the coastline here.
Bharatpur Beach
Bharatpur beach is right about half a kilometer from Neil island jetty. It’s a wide, white beach. Most of the tourists visit this beach in the morning hours and do snorkeling as in the evening they get to watch the sunset at Laxmanpur beach. The beach is well known for its coral reef which is undoubtedly utterly beautiful and probably the most beautiful in Andamans. There are plenty of benches to sit and some stalls around that sell packaged drinking water and coconut water.
